“The weekend zombie survival guide”

Hey there¡¡¡ did you miss us? Don’t worry; we are back and stronger than ever ;P

Speaking about something else… did you hear that? Oh my God it can’t be… it’s not possible…could it be?... Yeah, there’s no doubt. DRAMA is arriving to your life, and it's going to turn everything upside down.

Your parents are coming this weekend and you have no f***** idea of what to do with them. Yeah yeah, you have been living here for a month now but you don't really had any visit until now.

Hey¡¡¡ stop hyperventilating¡¡¡ why are we here if it's not to make your life easier? Take a few deep breaths and take it easy, cause today we bring you…

“The weekend zombie survival guide”

But without zombies and with your parents. (I can't really say what's worse :D)

(Okay, let's make a little break here before starting with the big deal. I’m going to assume that you know exactly where you have to go to pick them up. BUT. Just in case. I will let you here, down below, how to get to the airport and the main train stations. And then we are going to forget about this little break ;))

  • Airport: At the end of the Red Line.
  • Estaçao Oriente: Almost at the end of the Red Line.
  • Estaçao Santa Apolónia: At the end of the Blue Line.

(Psssss, If you are smart,  you will bring with you some metro cards for them. doing that you will avoid wait for unnecessary queues. isn't it the smartest thing you've ever heard? I know, we have a marvelous mind)

Where we were talking about? Oh yeah¡ “The weekend zombie survival guide” chaann chaaan *Drama music*

Easy and wonderful plans to do with them:

BELEM

You can spend here the whole morning or the whole afternoon easily. (I recommend you to go on the afternoon as there you can find one of the most beautiful sunsets in Lisbon. Omg, that sounded so corny)

Here you can walk here you can walk near the river, take a look to the Maat museum, and get to the awesome “Padrão dos Descobrimentos” and of course to the “Torre de Belem”. (What a wonderful name by the way ;))

And what is more important than all of that. You can taste, savor and die of pleasure eating some “Pasteis de Belem” (grrrrrrrr)

¡¡¡Super tip of the day!!! You can also die of pleasure eating or having dinner in “Honorato Hamburgueres Artesanais” just beside the “Pasteis de Belem”. You can thank me later.

LXFACTORY

Make sure you go here in the night, is when the magic starts, all the lights turns on, music in live starts and all is so asdfghjjkk (which means perfect in the cute language)

There you need to go mandatorily to the "Rio Maravilha" get to the highest part and contemplate the wonderfull views while you enjoy a really really cool beer.

FREE TOUR ARROUND LISBON

We all know that living an Erasmus experience is not pretty cheap and if you add this, to the fact that without knowing anyone from here, who can show you the city, is quite complicated known in a deep way Lisbon.

Soooooo that's why we recommend you to join one of the free tours that some companies offer to the tourist. (They will only ask for the will at the end of the tour, so, you are not bound to pay more than you can afford, pretty cool isn’t it?)

Here we left you all the links from the different companies with all the answers at the possible questions that you may have.

BOUTIQUE TABERNA

Point this: Escadinhas de São Cristovão, 8,Mouraria, Lisboa.

Once you get there you will never wanna go out, not joking it's totally the true. This is the coolest place I’ve ever been. All inside of it is so unique, and you don't know what you going to find when you arrive, maybe a man playing fado, or a group of Dutch people singing in Portuguese. (True Story)

Not to mention that they have handmade sangrias I’ve ever taste and with all the flavors and colors that can get to your mind. (Seriously, they have Green, red, pink, black, white and Caramel sangria. And just for 4 Euros. Heaven.)

Totally indispensable to visit.

Another situation saved by the wonderful Lx.Pt ehhhh, the last step is just relax and enjoy your time with your family. I’m pretty sure that you really miss them even if you don’t want to accept it ;)

Without nothing more to add, hope we've been of help!! Let us know it in the comments as always :P

Always yours❤: Lx.Pt

Transport Card or should i say... "The Devil Card"

Ok. You just arrive to Lisbon and everything seems under control. You adore your new apartment, your flat mates and omg; you’ve got a Continente just in front of your build.

Everything seems perfect, the sky is blue, the birds are singing, and YOUR year starts now. So you decide to explore and lost yourself on Lisbon streets, but, wait a minute, how are you going to get to the center? You can go by walking of course, but your home is 50 min from any place of interest in the city.

Don’t panic yet¡ fortunately; you remember that Lisbon has Public transport (Duh¡). So you just need to climb a couple of hell slopes to get to the nearest bus stop and, finally, get to the center.

You just arrive so you don’t really mind to pay a one-way ticket. You repeat this process once or twice, even three times if you are reckless, until you realize that you spent more money on transport than on food, or breathing.

Well, you got a new objective: Get the Transport Card ASAP.

To ask for it, you have to go between 9:00 am and 13:30 pm more or less, and for pick it up you just need to go to the same station where you asked for it starting at 18:00 pm.

Stations where you can ask for it:

  • ·         Campo Grande: Yellow and Green Line.
  • ·         Jardim Zoológico: Blue Line.
  • ·         Marqués de Pombal: Yellow and Blue Line.
  • ·         Alameda: Green and Red Line.

You don't know where they are? Don't worry baby here you got the Lisbon Metro Map :)

What are you going to need?

  • Fill an application form that you can find near the card office.

  • A license photo. REALLY IMORTANT.

  • Your ID, Passport, or something that can identify yourself.

  • Money, money, money.

Ways to ask for it:

  • Urgent- They will give it to you the next day, but you must pay 6 more (if you are less than 23 years), or 12€  (if you are higher than 23)
  • Normal- Without additional costs, you receive it passed ten days.

$ $$$$$$
-
  • Students: 27€ .
  • Not Students: 32€ .

If you are higher than 23, you will only have to go some of the stations, give the application form, drop the money and wait till they have it ready.

BUT! Let us tell you, that if you are younger than 23, this is your lucky day, your Hell just started.

To obtain the student discount, you will have to present In addition to all the above, a document named “Sun 23” (Don’t suffer, we let you right here a picture and you can download it easily. We care about your healthy <3)

In this document you will only have to fill the first half with your personal information, the second half should be filled by the international relations office of your university here in Lisbon, once you have enrolled and paid the school insurance. What is usually a month after all the no-Erasmus students.

Once achieved this Hell document, having delivered it and having picked it up, they can charge it at the moment. (Easy¡¡)

When it expires in a month, you should charge it by yourself in the machines near from the underground entrances. And that… oh friend… THAT’S a challenge.

But don´t worry about that now, that's a problem for the future you :D

let us know in the comments if this has been useful for you and if you still have any hair on your head XD

Always yours : Lx.Pt
